The encyclopedia of a territory The following web pages are the result of careful and extensive research carried out by a team of scholars in the area of Magione and of Lake Trasimeno. It is a sort of online encyclopedia, which is open to anybody’s contribution and which can be enhanced with new contents any time. Its purpose is to give you the chance to discover our region and its charming history, with the help of objective articles that are published by voluntary authors. The pages of which the “Magione Cultura” project consists display a collection of places, historical figures, works of art, traditions and general features of our region, and combine objectivity with accuracy. Giovanni Riganelli is the director of the many collaborators who have contributed to writing these pages, all provided with a bibliography of reference. An experienced historian and essayist, he succeeded in harmonizing the work of about twenty experts, who all had something to tell about Magione and its hamlets. We would like to heartily thank him and all the historians, anthropologists and art experts who made their contribution to enriching this space.A "work in progress" way of thinking: work with us! The website will continue to evolve. Not only will it be gradually translated into English and technically updated on a regular basis – as the Web is constantly changing –, but the users will also have the chance to add new entries and new pictures, thus becoming authors themselves. Every author will have his/her own biographical section, where he/she will be able to mention his/her own studies and any piece of work he/she has published. It will also be possible to add videos. If you would like to be an author and make your contribution to enhancing "Magione Cultura", please email us to cultura@comune.magione.pg.it.
